When you first connect a broker account, Katalyst can pull in your historical trade data so your analytics start with a full picture rather than just today’s trades. The amount of history available depends on your broker and connection type.
For Rithmic connections, historical data is typically available for the past 30 to 90 days depending on your broker’s data retention policy. Katalyst will attempt to pull as much history as the API allows. During the initial sync, you will see a progress indicator on the Connections page showing how many days have been processed.
If you need history beyond what the API provides, you can supplement with a CSV import. Katalyst’s duplicate detection ensures that trades already synced via the live connection will not be duplicated when you import a CSV covering the same period.
Historical syncs run in the background and do not block your use of the platform. You can continue to use the Dashboard, Analytics, and other features while the sync is in progress. Trades will appear gradually as each day’s data is processed.
To trigger a manual historical sync — for example, if you believe some trades were missed — go to the Connections page, click the three-dot menu next to your connection, and select “Re-sync History.” This will re-process the available date range and fill in any gaps.
